Ibn Rajab (rahimahullaah) said in Lataa-if (p.385):

“Whoever missed out on the standing at ‘Arafah; then let him stand for Allaah in regards to His rights in that which he is aware of.

Whoever was incapable from residing the night at Muzdalifah; then let his determination reside the nights upon obedience to Allaah – and indeed he will come close to Him and draw near to Him.

Whoever it was not possible for to stand in the vicinity of (Masjid) Al-Khaif (at Mina); then let him stand for Allaah with the right of hope and fear.

Whoever was unable to slaughter his sacrificial offering at Mina; then let him slaughter his desire right here – and indeed he would have attained the endurance of adversity.

Whoever was unable to reach the House (the Ka’bah) because he was far from it; then let him aspire to The Lord of the House, for indeed He is closer to the one who supplicates to Him and has hope in Him – than his jugular vein [4].”

((And indeed We have created man, and We know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than his jugular vein)) (Qaaf: 16).

Ibn Rajab al-Ḥanbalī رحمه الله said:

“Slaves of Allāh! The month of Ramaḍān is determined to leave and there are but a few days left of it. Those of you who have done good should complete it (in goodness) and whoever has neglected it then let him end it in goodness since actions are according to their ending. So enjoy the few nights and days that are left and bid it farewell by performing good deeds which can be witness for you with Al-Malik Al-‘Alam, and see it off by parting with the most pure greeting and Salam.”

Ibn Rajab (rahimahullaah) said:

“Al-‘Afuww (The One Who pardons greatly) is from The Names of Allaah The Most High; and He overlooks the wrongdoings of His servants, He is The One Who erases their trace from them. He Loves to pardon; and so He Loves to pardon His servants, He likewise Loves from His servants that they should pardon each other, so if they pardon each other; He conducts His pardon with them; and His Pardon is more beloved to Him than His Punishment.”[2]

at-Tirmidhī, Ibn Mājah and Ibn Khuzaymah narrated in one report:

“When the first night of the month of Ramaḍān comes, the devils and rebellious Jinn are chained up and the gates of Hell are closed, and not one gate of it is opened. The gates of Paradise are opened and not one gate of it is closed. And a caller cries out:

يا باغي الخير أقبل ، ويا باغي الشر أقصر ، ولله عتقاء من النار وذلك كل ليلة

‘O seeker of good, proceed (come forth!!); O seeker of evil, desist. And Allāh has those whom He redeems from the Fire, and that happens every night.”
[صحيح الجامع ٧٥٩ ، وحسنه الألباني]

From Abu Hurairah [رضي الله عنه] who said: The Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ] used to give good news to his Companions with the arrival of Ramadan, he would say:

«قد جاءكم شهر رمضان شهرٌ مبارك ، كتب الله عليكم صيامه ،فيه تفتح أبواب الجنة وتغلق فيه أبواب الجحيم ، وتغل فيه الشياطين ، فيه ليلةٌ خيرٌ من ألف شهر ، من حُرِمَ خيرها فقد حُرِم.»

❝Indeed the month of Ramadan has arrived, a blessed month. Allaah has prescribed fasting for you. In this month the doors of Paradise are opened and the doors of hell are closed. The devils are shackled. In Ramadan there is a night better than a thousand months, whoever is prohibited from the good in that night then indeed he has been prohibited from good.❞
[Collected By al-Mundhari In Targheeb Wa Tarheeb | Authenticated By Albaani, (1/490)]

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali said:

❝Some of the scholars said: This hadeeth is a foundation for some people congratulating others with the month of Ramadan.

How can one not give good news to the believer with the doors of Paradise opening.

How can one not give good news to the sinful that the doors of the Hell fire have been closed.
How can one not give good news to the intelligent one with that the devils are shackled.

Where can this time period be compared to any other time.❞

 [Lata’if al-Ma’arif, (1/158)]
