Pearls of a Muslim

At the Ka’bah

ولمَّا رأتْ أبصارُهُم بيتَهُ الذي = قلوبُ الوَرَى شوقًا إليهِ تَضَرَّمُ
كأنهمُ لمْ يَنْصَبُوا قطُّ قبْلهُ = لأنَّ شَقاهُمْ قد ترحَّلَ عنْهُمُو
فلِلَّهِ كمْ مِن عَبْرةٍ مُهْرَاقةٍ = وأخرى على آثارِها لا تَقَدَّمُ
وَقدْ شَرِقتْ عينُ المُحِبِّ بدَمْعِها = فينظرُ مِن بينِ الدُّموعِ ويُسْجِمُ
إذا عَايَنَتْهُ العَيْنُ زالَ ظلامُها = وزالَ عن القلبِ الكئيبِ التألُّمُ
ولا يَعْرِفُ الطرْفُ المُعايِنُ حسْنَهُ = إلى أن يعودَ الطرْفُ والشوقُ أعْظمُ
ولا عجبٌ مِن ذا فحِينَ أضافهُ = إلى نفسِهِ الرحمنُ ؛ فهو المعظَّمُ
كسَاهُ منَ الإجْلالِ أعظمَ حُلةٍ = عليها طِرازٌ بالمَلاحَةِ مُعْلَمُ
فمِنْ أجلِ ذا كلُّ القلوبِ تُحِبُّهُ = وتَخْضَعُ إجْلالا لهُ وتُعَظِّمُ

The Month of Rajab..

قال أبو بكر البلخي:  مثل شهر رجب كالريح ، ومثل شعبان مثل الغيم ، ومثل رمضان مثل المطر ، ومن لم يزرع ويغرس في رجب ، ولم يسق في شعبان فكيف يريد أن يحصد في رمضان 

Abu Bakr al-Balkhi said: “The Month of Rajab is like wind, the Month of Shabaan is like clouds, and the Month of Ramadan is like the rain. Whoever doesn’t plant and sow in Rajab and doesn’t irrigate in Shabaan how are you going to expect plants in Ramadan? “

Abdullaah bin ‘Amr bin ‘Aas (radiallaahu ‘anhu) said:

من بنى ببلاد الأعاجم وصنع نيروزهم ومهرجانهم وتشبه بهم حتى يموت وهو كذلك حشر معهم يوم القيامة

“Whoso enters/resides in the land of non-arab and celebrated their nayruwz (Persian New Year as an example of non-muslim celebrations) and their festivities and imitates them until he dies and he is upon it, he will be brought back to life with them in the day of resurrection”
