Talha ibn Ubaidullah (May Allah be pleased with Him) narrated: ‘At the sight of the new moon ( of the lunar month), Allah’s Messenger (Peace and Blessings Be a upon Him) used to supplicate :
”Allahumma ahillahu alaina bil-Amni wal-Imani,was-Salaamati wal-Islami, Rabbi wa Rabbuka-Allah.”

Anticipation heightened
then quietened
Uncertain fluctuation
I’d be lying
if I didn’t say
my butterflies have begun to flutter
emerging for it’s pupa
with much celerity
Your eminent arrival
Highly spoken of
Now marked by
a thin crescent.
Preparation admittedly in haste
everything but cordial.
All Praise due
to the one behind your arrival
　
Sweet tears in solitude
Your nights I seek
with a gentle light
the passing of which
